Engineering infrastructure for a specialist production facility

A radiopharmaceutical production facility brings specialist equipment and building services together in one coordinated environment. Our team delivered the facility’s engineering systems and participated in the installation of its cyclotron as part of a previous project, before CL ELECTRIC’s Canadian operations.

The client’s name and project location are withheld. This case study describes the team’s engineering contribution to the facility.

Our engineering scope

The assignment covered the facility’s engineering infrastructure, with electrical distribution, lighting, control cabinets, building automation and low-voltage systems forming connected parts of the work. The work connected electrical systems, structured cabling, access control and supervisory automation within one coordinated engineering scope.

Electrical infrastructure

Power distribution, lighting and electrical panels serving the facility and its equipment.

Automation and controls

Control cabinets and supervisory building systems connecting engineering equipment with monitoring and control functions.

Networks and access

Structured cabling and access-control infrastructure supporting the building’s communications and entry systems.

Cyclotron installation and supporting infrastructure

The project included the team’s involvement in cyclotron installation alongside the engineering infrastructure required by the specialist production environment. Equipment installation and building services had to be coordinated as parts of the same project.

Connecting installation with commissioning

The team’s scope extended across engineering installation and commissioning work. Electrical, communications and control systems were addressed as an integrated installation, rather than isolated packages.

Experience relevant to complex commercial and industrial facilities

This project forms part of the team’s previous experience in facilities where equipment, power, controls and communications must work together. For a current commercial or industrial project, CL ELECTRIC can help define the electrical, networking and automation scope appropriate to your site.
