Description and results

Previous team experience. This work predates the Canadian operations of CL ELECTRIC. Client identity and location are withheld.
A stadium lighting upgrade required a communications network linking the lighting control equipment. In December 2020, our team completed the network and controller installation scope as part of a wider reconstruction of roof architectural lighting and sports lighting.
The installation scope
The work included UTP cabling, optical fibre lines and temperature-controlled equipment enclosures. Twenty-eight lighting controllers were installed and commissioned. These elements connected the control equipment serving the lighting system.
Commissioning with the lighting manufacturer
After installation, the communications lines were tested. Commissioning was carried out together with representatives of Philips, the lighting system manufacturer. This coordinated the network installation with the equipment it needed to support.
A defined part of a larger upgrade
Our documented scope covered cabling, enclosures, controllers, line testing and commissioning. The project demonstrates experience connecting physical lighting equipment with the communications infrastructure behind it. It also shows the importance of treating installation and commissioning as related stages of a controls project.
