Description and results

Previous team experience. This work predates the Canadian operations of CL ELECTRIC. Client identity and location are withheld.
Project series: University campus. This is one component of a wider project, not a separate site.
A university campus required fibre connections across different parts of its site. Our team delivered the fibre infrastructure package as part of a broader project that also included entry-point equipment and local network cabling.
Working across different cable routes
The fibre scope included 450 metres installed through cable ducts, 115 metres along poles and a further 280 metres along a campus building. Using these different routes made the project more than a single cable pull: each section had its own installation conditions and termination requirements.
Supporting infrastructure and connections
The work included four poles, restoration of a cable-duct section and route transitions to equipment locations. A 12U cabinet with a foundation base, a cable joint in a chamber and fibre termination hardware formed part of the installation.
Measurement as part of the work
The completed package included 16 reflectometry records. Those records formed part of the fibre work scope. Specific loss values and transmission-speed claims are not presented here because they are not needed to describe the physical installation.
Connection to the wider campus project
The fibre routes and termination points were delivered alongside the campus camera and structured cabling packages. This article focuses on the backbone, while the other articles in the series cover the equipment and local connections that formed part of the same overall project.
