University Campus: CCTV and Entry-Point Infrastructure

Description and results

Designed project cover: University Campus: CCTV and Entry-Point Infrastructure

Previous team experience. This work predates the Canadian operations of CL ELECTRIC. Client identity and location are withheld.

Project series: University campus. This is one component of a wider project, not a separate site.

Camera coverage at campus entry points was one part of a wider network and infrastructure project. Our team delivered this scope as part of its previous project experience, coordinating the camera and controller installation with the connections serving the site.

Camera and controller installation

The completed scope included six video cameras, three controllers and two camera brackets. Three floodlights were also included in the installation. These were physical infrastructure works at the campus, undertaken alongside the wider cabling project.

Cable routes serving the equipment

The camera installation package included 100 metres of cable routed in protective conduit. Mounting equipment and providing its connections were treated as related tasks: the cameras needed suitable installation points as well as routes back to the supporting infrastructure.

How this work fits the campus project

This article covers the entry-point equipment. The fibre backbone and local structured cabling are described in separate parts of the same campus series. Together, those work packages connected equipment locations and provided the physical infrastructure for the installation.

Delivered scope

The completed work brought together cameras, controllers, mounting hardware, conduit cabling and floodlights. This case study describes the installed infrastructure; it does not claim a measured reduction in incidents or a particular video analytics capability.
