Sports Park: Court Lighting Control and Automation

Description and results

Designed project cover: Sports Park: Court Lighting Control and Automation

Previous team experience. This work predates the Canadian operations of CL ELECTRIC. Client identity and location are withheld.

Project series: Sports park. This is one component of a wider project, not a separate site.

Court lighting control was one of the automation packages delivered within a wider sports park systems project. Our team completed the control equipment installation and programming alongside the other facility-system work described in this series.

Controllers and switching equipment

The lighting package covered four controllers and four modular contactors for squash-court lighting. These components served different roles: the controllers handled programmed control logic, while the contactors provided the switching elements.

Installation, connections and programming

The completed work included equipment installation, electrical connections, controller programming and system start-up. Describing those stages separately makes clear that the scope extended beyond supplying control hardware.

Relationship to the wider park systems

The park project also included access control, visitor kiosks and digital displays. Lighting control was a separate technical component within that programme. This article does not assume a particular connection between lighting operation and booking or access events.

Delivered automation scope

The completed package provided installed and programmed court-lighting control equipment. The detailed switching sequence is not reproduced here, and no energy-saving percentage or occupancy-sensing feature is claimed. The case study focuses on the verified equipment and work scope.
